Aircraft Projects in Progress From the Duke

Here at Maddog Manufacturing, I’ve been busy with a couple new aircraft to add to the inventory. So far there are only three and a helicopter, with a couple more in the pipeline. I included the helicopter here since it was easier to keep all these projects together in one Thread. When it’s done, I’ll be posting my Ka-60 in the Helicopter Forum.

First off, this is the cockpit to my Australian F-4 Phantom. After this pic was taken, I then painted it and am waiting to put the instrument panel decals in:

I also have the air intakes installed and the main wings assembled, but I didn’t get shots of them yet.

For a fun, quick build, I started the Matchbox Ford Trimotor as well. Here it is almost fully assembled:

Since these were taken, I’ve done some more detail painting to it. Now I’m going to apply the decals to this one before installing the engines.

Next, I’ve also been working on a real bear of a kit: Maquette’s 1/72 scale Ka-60 helicopter! I won’t go into any more details about how bad this kit is, but I made it to the 15th round and finally got paint on this bad boy!

And for those who may not remember or have known, I am still working on my 1/48th scale P-51 B, another reject from the Distressed Kit Auction. Hey, it was free; otherwise I would never have done it! I just got new decals for this bird which I’m still debating as to whether I’ll use them or try to find some other more appealing ones. Until then, this one is temporarily on hold, except for some detail painting I will be doing.

That covers everything so far. Comments are welcome.

That’s a nice selection of models there! Can’t wait to see the finished products - especially the Phantom. Thanks for the pics.

Steve

That is some good progress Duke, I’m sure they will turn out great. BTW what kit manufacture is the P-51from?

The Ford is looking great. So is the KA-60. The cockpit of the Phantom is a little bland though. [:D]. Need some hints on how to do a F-4 cockpit? [}:)]

Keep us posted on the progress.

[#ditto] Let’im have it Bill…[:-,]

Thanks Bill! This is the old Ertl kit that has no detail at all in the cockpit. I already added the decals to it. and finally got the fuselage together and the main wings on. Here it is:

This thing was so warped it was unreal! I got it together though, and should be able to sand down the ridges and imperfections.

Wooverstone, that is the Monogram 1/48 scale P-51B.

You’re welcome Stevce. Keep watching here, I got more!
