As in the B-17 of the same name
Mother was a goose, father was a swan. He got tired of all the others calling him ugly

Flown by Col. Frank Kurtz. Today, “The Swoose” is the oldest surviving B-17 and the only early “D” model still in existence.
BTW, Kurtz later named his daughter after his plane - Swoosie. Yes, that Swoosie Kurtz.
