1/48 Tamiya Swordfish. Yes - it’s big - but ~seventy bucks is a bit steep for a 1/48 single engine A/C
I’d prefer to pay more for all of them. duh.
We would all like to see a price cut on all kits. I think maybe the thread should be “Which kit is the most over-priced?” This way the answers may be something other than “all of them”
One could answer this question with the same answer but at least is may make you think a little bit.
The two flying wing kits from Italeri, I know they are pretty good sized but $70-80 seems like a lot for re-issues of 20+ year old kits. I would have bought them by now if they were under $50.

someday you’ll be using microTorrent or something similar to download CAD dwg files of your favorite kit into your 3D printer and reproduce the kit as many times as you want.

I don’t know that these conversations will result in sudden lower prices for pre-existing kits, but I’d like to complain on my soap box for a minute about the high price of Hasegawa’s 1/72nd scale B-26 Marauder kits. I think $40 clams is ridiculous for a kit of this diminutive size, sans resin and PE.
But then this maker has absolutely lost their marbles lately with their pricing across the board IMO. Most unfortunate, but apparently irreversible none the less.

Hasegawa prices are absurd especially considering the present economy.
If the public reduces purchases of Hasegawa products, I presume either the manufacturer will lower prices or reduce exports to the USA-depending upon how important this market is to them.
Affordable enough to sit on your desktop. Well I dont know about you chaps I dont have that many $15000 things on my desktop, do you?

3d printers are coming down in price, I’d guess in the next 10 years they will be $1000 items. There are already high tech do it yourselfers building their own, and the really cool part is the printers make their own spare parts.
How is your broken 3D printer going to make it’s own spare parts??? I missed something there. In any case I recently read that the problems with Hasegawa prices were coming from the distributor. They have changed distributors so now we’ll see if it was true I suppose.

However, it IS a low price compared to others I’ve seen. Anyone old enough to remember the first consumer VHS top load decks in the 1970s?
They weren’t affordable to the masses either and the price came down a lot.
Maybe the big O can give us some modeling stimulus money? We could also use it buy Hasegawa kits, too! [:D]
