If you have ever seen the movie “The kid” (Bruce Willis is staring) you’ll see the “The Red Bi-plane” in the scene. I would like to know which plane is it? And which brand made it for 1/48 scale?
Thanks so much, really thanks

It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie but if I recall correctly the aircraft you mention is a stearman.I have no idea who makes one in 1/48 as it’s not really something I’d look for.
Good luck
Yes, that Stearman kit by Lindberg used to be in the Squadron “bagged kits” specials every month for it seems like years, and it is a good start for some detailing. I do wonder why no one makes a serious kit of this classic aircraft. And the old Revell 1/72 kit wasn’t so bad either. Tiny, but not so bad. It may crop up again in Revell Germany’s list.
I once was driving the highway from the Mexican border between Brownsville and Harlingen, the former location of the Confederate AF, my destination. There were several CAF and private Boeing/Stearman PT-17’s housedthe . About 20 miles south of the field one of those horrendous Category Five storms that spring up on the Texas coast in five minutes, and are gone in a half hour, had lowered visibility to the point that most of the cars were pulled off the road. I kept driving and I heard an airplane approaching through this terrific rain and hail storm. As it passed over, I saw it was a Stearman, about a hundred feet up, caught in the storm and following the highway back to Rebel Field. I tried to imagine how terrified the people or person in that open cockpit biplane must have been, and prayed they would make it. They did, because I worked for the UPI wire service then and I would have been sent to the crash had they not. But I’m sure they got wet. I’ve had a soft spot for the old “Yellow Peril” ever since. Never got to fly one, but hope springs eternal.
