Hi Guys.
I’ve been airbrushing now for a couple of years. Mostly just the primer and paint coats before decaling. Now, I’ve been trying to airbrush the final clear gloss and dull coats.
I’ve tried a couple of different brands, including Future. But, I seem to be running into a problem. The clear coats basically run down the sides of the fuselage and to the back of the wings and pool up in a milky white blob when dried.
I assume that I am using too much air pressure for the job. Anybody have any suggestions on what a good psi would be for this job?

Actually, it sound like you are laying on too “wet” a coat. Usually it is best to apply a series of light coats. Your airbrush should be tested on scrap to be sure of the application. Less pressure may compound the problem by laying on almost a stream of material.

I’ve had the same problem with Future. My problem is that I didn’t know when to stop putting on the future and eventually it would run and pool. I was trying to get the desired finish right on the first coat. It’s best to put on a light coat and then walk away. Keep doing that over and over a few times and it will work out.
it could be too high air pressure or simply not moving you airbrush enough to avoid excessive buildup.
