Airbrushing Future on Vertical Surfaces

I know that just about every Future topic has probably been covered in every possible fashion, but I can’t find a reference to this one (at least after my futile search attempts). My apologies to all if I am once again beating the dead horse [:I]

I have never used Future but plan to try it on a Panther G and ME 109 that are ready for decaling. I have read the Complete Future posting and learned much from it. I read that while the initial Future application can look a little rough, it will level itself out after a few hours of sitting. I can understand that concept as it relates to horizontal surfaces, but how about vertical? Will it even out correctly on a vertical surface (assuming I don’t lay it on too heavily)? Thanks.

Russ

“Vertical surface” application is pretty much the same as on horizontal surfaces. The key to airbrushing Future, on any surface, is to go with light dusty coats thus avoiding running. If you turn your subject matter 90 degrees you will then be spraying on a horizontal surface. I have found that the best way to apply Future, along with the aforementioned light coats, is to thin the Future with a little Windex. This tends to level out the Future better than if you spray it “neat”. Practice on some scrap plastic or an old model until you are happy with the outcome. Mike

Thank you.
