airbrushing clogging with acrylics

airbrush(s): paashe model H & Iwata hp-b
paint medium(s): 1. fw acrylic ink, 2. liquitex concentrated medium viscosity paint thinned with airbrush medium and
3. water color

I create my own figures, cast them out of a hard urethane and paint them with acrylics. I have been having a problem when I detail with my airbrush in order to get fine lines. I get fine results when I use straight acylic ink or watercolor. But when I mix the liquitex with the airbrush medium I get constant clogging. I use more than enough airbrush medium. Does anyone have any suggestions or can point out what I’m doing wrong the liquitex paint. Thanks

Try thinning with isopropryl alcohol instead (rubbing alcohol). Your results should be much better. Add just enough to thin your acrylics to milk consistency. Hope this helps. - Ed

I doesn’t hurt either to have a q-tip moistened with isopropyl alcohol at hand, and dab at your airbrush tip when it starts getting sticky. 9 out of 10 times that’ll do the trick.
