Hi all,
I’m wondering if this fitting on an airbrush siphon jar is pretty much universal to all airbrushes?
My Point Zero airbrush kit came with two jars. One with the pick up adapter and the other with just a lid. I’m wanting to get another adapter (or more likely another brand jar with adapter) so as to have a second siphon jar at the ready with a cleaning agent so that I don’t have to fumble with switching the one adapter from the paint jar to the cleaning/blowing out jar. I want to minimize any risk of spills as much as possible. My spray booth is not in a garage or unfinished area of the basement where I wouldn’t care about a spill. I do. I’ve researched where I can get the exact same Point Zero adapter (without having to pay outrageous shipping) but that seems like pulling teeth.
Thanks,
Mark

The short answer is no. Airbrushes that have a siphon feed may have similarly sized parts, or you might be able to “make” them fit, but there are differences from company to company. For instance, that would not work with a Grex airbrush’s siphon feed. Your best bet will be to get a second adapter compatible with your airbrush from the manufacturer or retail outlet, painful as that may be.

Notwithstanding a Grex siphon feed which I don’t have, the answer for Itawa, Badger and Paasche, which I do have, is yes.

Thanks for the replies.
@Tim_Kidwell1 ….ya, I’m figuring as such. For whatever reason Point Zero doesn’t sell the 22cc jar/adapter as an accessory. Just a big, gigantic 80cc.
One option is to just buy a second airbrush off Amazon and get the parts that way, but for $35 CDN. Then again, that might not be a bad thing. I’ll figure something out.
Cheers,

So far I’ve had very good luck buying a suction airbrush, then weeks or months later going back to Amazon and buying a boxful of paint bottles with appropriately angled necks for that airbrush… and finding that the bottles always fit the airbrush. There’s a great degree of standardization across manufacturers of suction airbrushes. Gravity airbrushes… not so much. There’s a whole worldful of different threads for top-mount cups / bottles for gravity brushes.

Thanks for the intel. I ended up buying a second siphon airbrush of the same to get the second bottle I wanted.
However, your post has made it comforting to know that, should I want more bottles, I could likely go ahead and buy some on their own without worry.
Cheers,
