Dont waste your money , I had a $20 one a few years ago and it didnt even work when I got it, I got it to work after taking it apart and putting it together but just save your money and get something worth having.
A friend of mine, who also posts here bought one of those. He said its a chinese knock-off of a badger 150 or 155. He said the parts are interchangable with his badger.
Maybe I see things differently, IAMBRB, but he DID have experience with a cheap AB, as referenced by his post. Therefore, as you so cryptically put it, he didn’t contribute lack of experience, only his personal experiences with a knock off airbrush. As always, mileage may vary based on quality control issues that have been corrected over the past few years. In my business, it doesn’t matter whether it’s automobiles or airbrushes, generally you’re going to get what you pay for.
I’m not trying to incite anything here, but just think about what you’re posting before you hit that “Post” button.
might not be a bad backup airbrush if they work ok, its kind of a pain to switch out the needles and whatnot, slows things down a bit, im curious to see how well they work
I’ve started using my AB again, and it’s a 25$ Badger plastic one. Works really well, and is built like a tank (fitting for the armor forum). I’ve never seen/slash used the ones on the provided link, but Badger is a very reliable brand.
plastic airbrush… that sounds dangerous. i know the amount of thinner I spray through mine, and what thinner does to plastic. I’d kill a plastic AB in a matter of days
Excuse me! First watch your attitude and have some respect I have over 22 years modeling experience to contribute,Second I didnt have to take the time to post on your question that could have been solved by a simple google search, and I do have experience with these airbrushes I have a powerkat that I bought for the compressor that came with it for your information it cost me $10 and another $40 for the compressor I also have the one I bought a few years ago for $20 that I mentioned above I purchesed both on ebay and it comes no where close to my Iwata I simply recommended you save your money and get something worth having because I wish I had not wasted my money just for the compressor , mine did not work the day I got it and required fixing some problems here is a picture.
Lastly think about what your posting to someone who is trying to help you out, you asked for opinions on the subject and I myself have one I bought over 7 months ago just because I didnt give you the awnser you wanted you take the compilation of opinions and make a educated guess on your own thats the purpose of a forum.
Hadnt seen this one yet. As Joe [Leopardman] stated above, I also have one of these AB’s. Most, if not all, of the parts are interchangeable with my Badger 150. I have tried it, and used it. And with some tweaking [like filing the needle to a finer point], its not bad. I still wouldn’t trade my 150 for it, but its not bad. I do, however, highly recommend their $50-60 compressors. I picked one of them up [I think mine was actually $60-70] and it works great. I replaced the fitings with some better ones, tilted the regulator for a better view, added an elbow to it and a digital flow meter [$15 at Harbour Freight] and an inline trap. Then the hose. It works great. The digital meter shows EXACTLY whats flowing to the AB. It claims to be a regulator, but it only shows the incoming pressure, not outgoing. So I put it after my normal reg, and opened it full. So it shows whats coming out of the reg and to the AB. But it is SOOOO quiet. I can spray and talk on the phone at the same time, no one can hear it. Auto shuts off when it builds to 56PSI and restarts at 45PSI. So it provieds a steady CFM. Just my [2c]
