This might sound like a stupid question, but when you purchase an airbrush and it only comes with a medium needle, and you go to purchase the other sizes do you buy just the other needles or do you need a different size tip as well, I don’t know too much about these things.
on all the airbrushes that i use yes, you need the appropriate tip to go along with it. what kind of airbrush do you have?
don’t have one yet, just asking because some of the ones out there only come with either a med or fine attachment.
Yes, you need to buy tips and needles together according to size.
That is unless you buy an airbrush that only uses one needle/tip combo.

Just two days ago i purchased a fine paint tip assembly for my Badger 350. Yes, you do need the whole assembly, even though most of the parts look identical.

Some of the Badgers and Omnis have a single needle / tip combination that covers everything from fine lines to wide coverage with virtually any paint. No tips or needles to swap out. I have two Omni’s (Thayer & Chandler, now manufactured by Badger) and am completely happy with them.

just a quick question. what can be used to thin Humbrol enamels so they can be airbrushed? Can laquer thinners be used?

I would note recommend using lacquer thinners, as I understand it these are cellulose based. Humbrol do their own enamel thinner, but I have found all enamel thinners work just as well. On occassion when I ran out of enamel thinners I used common white spirit and it worked ok.
