I haven’t modeled in years but am planning on getting back into it soon. I have a Badger airbrush that as I recall became clogged somehow and I’m not sure how to go about unclogging it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Disassemble the whole thing, remove the white O-rings and soak all the metal parts in lacquer thinner overnight. Wipe the parts clean with a rag and use pipe-cleaners dipped in lacquer thinner to clean tips and bore of the airbrush body. Be careful not to damage the tips or needle. Wiping the needle with a little WD-40 before re-assembly helps guide it through the O-ring seals without damaging them and helps keep the paint from sticking to the needle while painting, but be sure to wipe off any excess so you don’t end up spraying your model with WD-40. Make sure that you remove the air valve assembly if you soak it in lacquer thinner. I don’t know if that is what leopold meant or not when he said to remove the “white O-rings” in his post.
I am not sure what Badger airbrush you have but most airbrushes have a needle bearing that is not removable without a special tool.
I would also recommend some Super Lube made by Medea (Iwata) on the needle instead of WD-40 as it is much better.
