Airbrush newbie needs technical know-how, please!

Hi all!

I’m new to the forum and this is my first posting.

I bought myself the basic Tamiya Spray-Work airbrush and compressor combo. However, it doesn’t have a water trap. [:(]

The guy at the hobby shop said I could build my own, but I’m not sure whether I sould take the plunge and do it? How would one go about building your own water trap anyway?

Thanks in advance, guys. [:D]

Hmmm, build your own. Go to a hardware store/dept like at Lowes or Home Depot and pick one up, in line for a buck or two. You may not even need one especialy if you have a tank with your system. A tank is a nice thing to have, it will help smooth out pressure fluctuations, cause moisture to drop out and lighten the load on your compressor. You can get a five gallon tank at Western Auto for around $20.00 - a very good investment. If you are not in a high humidity area you may not need one, I live by Lake Erie and have been airbushing here for 12 years and do not have one (I use an expansion tank).
