I have Grex for color and Badger 105 for clear coat .
Would this Master cheap airbrush with .5 needle for primer be good ?

Why do you need three separate airbrushes for color, primer and clear coat? Everyone uses the same airbrush for every aspect of painting with an airbrush. I own 2 airbrushed - single action and dual action.
I just thought , I have one for each purpose … In case I don’t get it completely clean …
The GREX color Brush has a .3 needle
The BADGER 105 clear coat brush has .5 needle

If you have $$, why not? But I think you’d be better off buying a quality AB.
I use:
Iwata HP-CR (.5 mm) for clear coat & acrylic primers
Paasche H (.5 mm) for lacquer primers
Iwata HP-CS (.35 mm) for base coat and general camo patterns.
Iwata HP-B+ (.2 mm) for detail work.
Do I really need all of them? Not at all. I could do my painting work with only the HP-CS. But I love airbrushes and am thinking about getting a H&S or another Iwata because to me the airbrushes are the sexiest tools.
Here’s my thinking on this:
single-action, external mix - clear coats, where you want even coverage but fine atomization isn’t a major concern
single-action, internal mix - primers, metallics, and color coats, where you want even coverage and good atomization…note: a separate brush for metallics only, or metallics/primers, wouldn’t be a bad idea
double-action, internal mix - detail work (mottling, weathering, shading, etc)
I think you could support this array without breaking the bank it you shop carefully. Paul Budzik has a video on choosing the right airbrush that is highly informative and fascinating
Well, all of my builds, 40 or so aircraft and two tanks have been painted with my old Paasche H. I’ve pulled off NMF, single colors and multi-colored camo with it but it does have it’s limitation (lol, kinda like me!) I do have a SOTAR that has never had paint through it yet. I admit that after using that simple old Paasche H, the SOTAR is a bit intimidating to me.

thank you
Rick
That’s what I did.
Like Chrisk-k said. If you can afford it, why not? But be carefull what you select. It may not have an easy access to spare parts or good atomizing feature. Just do more research on what you buying.
You have the best workbench I’ve ever seen! I’m inspired and will make my workbench tidy.
yes he does … Great work bench
I’m going order a Iwata or Badger with .5 needle for primer only … I know there won’t be any issues …
Thanks
Rick
I have 2 cats. And they have a habit of taking small things from my bench. So I have to keep things tidy.
The force is strong with those cats.
I bet there are stories about modelers & pets. Hahaha
