I am a newbie just try to learn airbrushing camouflage. I love AFV alot, especially 1/35 type. I have an aztek a270 airbrush but it cannot spray fine lines on my model anyway. What kind of airbrush I should buy to acheive that? My king tiger tank really need a good airbrush to make its camo looks really good. Thanks guys!
Any of the good double-action airbrushes will suit your needs.
I recommend you look at the Thayer & Chandler Omni and Vega series, The Badger Anthem, and the Iwata Eclipse.
These are all very well made and will do all you need for models.
Thanks MikeV:
I am just dont understant is there any different for bottle feed and gravity feed? Is there any different and which one is better? Thanks.
Gravity feed lets you use a lot less air pressure and get better control of paint. I like it way way way more than bottom feed.
I use my Iwata with enamels all the time.
The main difference in the two is as he said, they are easier to use at lower pressure. They are also a little easier to clean also. The enamels we use for model painting work great through these airbrushes as that is the viscosity of paint they were designed for. Other airbrushes that I see some people buying for modelling are overkill and I would not recommend them. The Sotar 20/20, Iwata Custom Micron and Paasche AB Turbo are NOT designed for this hobby even though some may disagree. I’ll bet you I could paint as fine of a line with my Omni as anyone can with their Sotar with enamels or acrylics. [;)]
