having quite a few flow problems with my airbrush set. (Rand airbrush kit-single action siphon feed) You can see it here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Air-Brush-Quiet-Compressor-Paint-Spray-Gun-Kit-Airbrush_W0QQitemZ170231012356QQihZ007QQcategoryZ79702QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I suspect it’s because I didn’t clean the tip very well, there’s a lot of dried paint in the tip. Also the gasket inside paint cup has a lot of buildup on it. I rinse everything out with water after every use (as I use MM Acryl paints exclusively). Can these 2 issues effecting my airbrush paint flow, or should I experiment more with thinning my paint? (I use water to thin as well)
Give you books send you to school and you forget to clean the airbrush thoroughly each time.[V]
A single action AB isn’t hard to pull apart and clean. Also get in the habit of using a spare jar filled with cleanser. Remove the head and wipe the pickup tube with a paper towel. Spray until the pickup tube is empty, then screw it onto the jar with the cleanser. Windex if using acrylics, lacquer thinner for enamels. Flush the system clean…the take the AB apart to clean the needle. Let dry and reassemble, ready for the next use.
Figured out my problem this weekend…would you believe it was the gasket in the suction cup lid? Fortunately, I have a Paache H airbrush kit that comes with an extra set of bottles that fit my badger knock off. Now if I can find an air hose or adaptor, I could actually use my new Paache!
