Airbrush cuts out paint flow.

My Badger 150 airbrush keeps cutting out its paint flow. it only happens for a second but is incredibly annoying and enough to ruin a model. also sometimes the paint flow stops all together, when it returns it will give a large squirt of paint. I clean it after each session but I am properly not doing it right. any suggestion on how to solve this issue?

Does it do this with plain water or thinner? You may have lumps in your paint.

I use acrylics and thin them with water, I spray before with water, the problem is less annoying with spraying water but still present.

It could be some dried paint inside the nozzle. Do you have more than one that you could try?

If not, you could soak the nozzle in some lacquer thinner or acetone and probe it gently with a sharpened toothpick. Don’t use anything metal. Use an eyedropper to flush it out.

Do you see bubbles in the cup or bottle when you spray?

How does the needle feel when you install it? Does it have a little drag?

yes the needle takes a bit of force to get it in, and no bubbles in the paint cup.

I suspect you have a dirty nozzle. If you had a spare, you could swap it out and see.
