Whats the best way to make the flourescent air recognition panels the Allies used late in WW2. I need one for my 1/72 M-5 tractor thanks for any help.[:p]
I make air recognition panels out of saran wrap, painted dayglo orange. They look pretty good.
Use Kleenex cut to the proper size, coat with a 50/50 mixture of white glue and water. Lay it flat and let dry…then paint the color you want.
May I offer a different opinion on one of the suggestions? Kleenex or other facial tissue has a pretty extreme texture for usage in 1/35 scale in my opinion. Once dried and painted, it would appear to be tree bark in 1/35 scale. Fabric, even rough canvas, would show no texture at all in 1/35. Working in 1/72, you definitely want something smooth. Try epoxy or lead foil.
