Thanks to the kindness of one of the sergeants of the Ottawa Carlton police service, I was able to see air force one up close and would now like to build a 1/144 scale model of it. Having said that, I am pretty much resigned to the idea that I’ll have to print my own decals as a search hi and low all over the internet has yielded nil in terms of livery for this beast. My question is this, does anyone know what font is used on the fuselage to spell out “United States of America?” and what shades of blue are used on the plane? Any help or insight is greatly appreciated!
Check with Airline Hobby Supply, you should be able to get those decals. Google them.
That’s a tough one, but a good challenge. I’ve never seen a model of the current 28000 so I’d be surprised if the decals exist. But the 707 version was very popular, Phil Brandt did a nice model of it in FSM a while ago, and they’re available on eBay. I’d buy one, it’s Minicraft, for the decals, and buy a 747-200 from Revell, which is currently available.
