Sad news…Was reading the local rag down here and read about two P-51s at Oshkosh that crashed after a performance yesterday. Here is a very dramatic pic of one of the 51s hitting the other. One pilot was confirmed killed.Has anyone else heard about this?
oh no,
We hate seeing this stuff, especially when people get killed. Thoughts and Prayers.

There’s some more info on

Strangely I couldn’t find anything on http://www.airventure.org/
oh dear another crash it seems to be a dark to years in aviation just 3 weeks ago a stearman went down wit its pilot i rsa it seems that crashes r becomeing more frequent and i just bought a mk22 spitfire to restore to fly at airshows but in the last 3 years about 13 pilots have been last dureing airshow or practice performances and i saw 3 of them go dow infront of me and it is starting to make me wonder is i worth my life to fly a 60year old aircraft at air shows ? i just dont know
Unfortunately,
There has been another one in Dayton, OH. Jim LeRoy died in route to the hospital after his Pitts stunt plane crashed.

This weekend and the Blue Angels crash earlier this year have made it a horrible airshow season.
Thoughts and Prayers

That is simply awful! I was at the airshow Firday and saw the P-51s crash, but hadn’t heard about Jim LeRoy. I met him a few years back at an airshow and was most impressed by him. He talked to me as if we had been old friends, and humored all of my questions. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
I was at Dayton, not to far away, when Jim LeRoy crashed in Bulldog II. His tail hit when he was pulling out of a downward spiral.
Slidell still exists?, a freind of mine lost everything in Katrina, said screw it and moved to Colorodo.
Slidell is doing fine. We don’t sit around and moan and gripe like New Orleans begging for handouts. We repaired our damage and are about 85 % restored.
Sympathies and prayers to the family.
