I’m building a Marine AH-1W, 1:48th Revell of Germany kit. It’s for a young Marine, who served as a maintenance crewman for two tours overseas. A very nice young man, I’m pleased to build it for him to honor his service.
In reference photos I see two different exhaust versions, the kit has the tubes mounted on a slant with vertical orientation, others have lengthy and horizontal exhaust extensions. Anyone know of AM horizontal exhausts?
Hopefully so, I don’t have the skills to scratch them. Thanks very much in advance.
Thanks for the info, very helpful, I’ll see if I can find the Olimp set. Now that I consider the shape and length of the extended exhausts, I wonder what was the purpose? Did it reduce noise, or did it somehow lower the heat signature, to make it harder for heat seeking armament to track it? Hmmm.
