AH-1S: A bizarre idea that just might work!

Ok, its late, I’m tired and god knows why I’m up this late, but I just had a brainstorm. Whaddya think of using the MRC AH-1T+ kit and the tailboom and exhaust section from an MRC UH-1C, along with lots of scratchbuilding to produce an AH-1S or with further modification, an AH-1J? Trying to be creative since NO MANUFACTURER HAS VIETNAM COBRAS OR SINGLE ENGINE VARIANTS IN 35TH SCALE! hint hint…

Ok, time to go to bed. The cockpit for “Hulk” is finished.
I’m calling it a night

It’s not a bizarre idea at all, sounds like a good ole’ fashioned kitbash to me!

Kitbashing is something of a rarity these days, with the all the resin and brass fixin’s available. I say GO FOR IT! [:p]

Fade to Black…

[sarcasm] I know exactly how to make the manufacturers produce a nice 1:35 AH-1S… cut up an old Revell G-model and scratch-build the exhaust section and the canopy. Two months later there will appear a wonderful newly-tooled kit that will put your efforts to shame. [/sarcasm]

Actually, that sounds like an interesting project. I have been wanting to do a 1:32 version for a while now. I need to finish some of my other projects first, though.

FITTER out

Sounds like a good idea to me Jon, Gopher it.[:)]

You know, its kinda funny…
I got 3 of the MRC UH-1C kits. I’ve opened and built all three, yet I don’t have a complete UH-1C yet. I used two of them to kitbash a UH-1D in 35th, and of course the second I was done grafting the fuselages together, Panda comes out with the damn kit… The other has had miniguns ripped off of it twice now, to supply good miniguns for my Cobras!

At some point, I do intend on doing this project. Its been filed away for future reference. Gotta finish the Apache that I’ve just started, along with my last G Cobra and the J Cobra engine section that I’m scratch building.

We’ll see!
