has anyone built this kit yet? i just bought it the other day and am blown away by the quality and looks of all the parts!!(and there are alot of them) does aber make a PE set for this kit?
An Alan 251? Do you mean DML or AFV Club? I’m familiar with 251’s from those two companies. Royal Models is releasing update sets for the DML/AFV Club 251’s. I’m not sure about other companies but give them time. As popular as these halftracks are, I’m sure they will come out with something.
I too am unfamiliar with a 251 kit from Alan. There are the DML and AFVclub kits, plus some from AM manufacturers, but these are resin kits.
sorry i meant afv club! whoops!!
I have a couple of AFV Club 251’s and they are nice kits. The detail is very good and they come with a nice set of vinyl tracks. They don’t have as many extras as the DML kits and have a higher cost, but the detail, IMO is better. The AFV Club pak 40 is also supposed to be better than the DML offering. If you go to Planetarmor.com, look for a section called “vbench”. A few of the builders in that section have built both the AFV Club 251’s and the Dragon kits. Those build logs should give you an idea of what to expect when you start building. HTH
sry, i got the DML kit n i am set!! wish i could be of more help
I’ve got one of the AFV SdKfz 11 kits and one of the things that bugs me is that they put two fairly big holes in the front bumper that will have to be filled for the version I have (the late). I wish they would hav dimpled the back of the bumper and let me drill if I’d needed to.
May want to change the name of the thread to AFV.
The kit is supposed to be the most acurrate.
here is a comparison review.

I picked up the AFV Club 251/1 Ausf D with Pak 40. It’s a nice kit, I hope to get to it sometime during the summer.
