AFV Club M18

Hello all.

Been away for awhile but here’s my rendition of the Hellcat.Modelkasten tracks, and some Eduard PE.

Hey wow nicely done. I like the weathering you did on this one. Not overdone. Did all the stowage equipment come from the kit or taken from somewhere else?

Sorta had my eye on this kit. How did you find it overall? Any issues with fitting etc?

Great work once again!

Great work. I like the crusty/dusty/muddy weathering. One piece of critism though; replace that U of M thing in your signature bar with one from Ohio State. Go Buckeyes.

Great model though. I have trouble with Eduard PE on some kits. How’d the detail set match up with the model?

Semper Fi,

Chris

Thanks guys!!

The stowage is Apoxie Sculpt except for the bags which are from the spares box.

The kit has a few fit issues, nothing major. The Eduard set is straight forward. There is some surgery needed for the screens on the exhaust.I scratched the exhaust so it didn’t look empty.

Thanks for the comments.

Oh Chris…

GO BLUE BABY!!!

A beautiful build and pro finish–good job! Nice weathering especially!

Thanks doog!!

Stug,

Haven’t seen you around for a while. Nice work!

Hey Andy,

I really like the Hellcat. That .50 ammo looks really cool, and the wood handles on the tools looks great. I agree that the weathering is “just right” as well, grimy but not over done. Super work.

Oh, and, my hat is off to all who can deal with the MK track.

Steve

Wow i think you did a great job on that too! Can you briefly share how you did it using apoxie sculpt?

Thanks again all !!

Jeremy I do the rolls in two different ways. One is to roll the AP very thin and then fold it just like a real piece of clothe. Then while the AP is still pliable I make the indentations for the straps and put the tension folds with the tip of a pencil.

The other way is to roll it out into a small log and put the folds and indents with the pencil again.

Really very simple… If I can do it anyone can!!!

M1, I’m usually lurking around somewhere here!!

Steve, thanks buddy!! From you it’s truly a great compliment!!!

Nice to see you get some time in at the bench Andy. [tup]

Cool build! I saw a show on the Military Channel about this tank and got to learn a bit about it, like how really cold it was in them with that radial engine and no heater!!![:O]

Hey Andy, your kitty needs a bath. All kidding aside, another wonderful build to add to your collection. Your weathering is alway right on. Thumbs up bro.

Eric, Eric and Bill, thanks for the comments!!

You all know I can’t help but dirty them up!!

Thanks again!!

I really like it and I love the weathering. It looks like a piece of line equipment. Weathered, not burried in grime and dirt.

What is the mantlet cover made of? Apoxie sculpt or is it the kit version? My only nit-pick is that it looks a little too green. Weren’t those things made of heavy canvass? I would think they wear a little darker.

I really do like everything else. Stowage looks like it belongs and wasn’t just placed there to fill up some empty space, and I can just smell the Italian roadside dirt linning the road wheels.

It’ll kick anything I could put together!![bow]

thanks for posting!

Thanks for the kind words IA,

The cover is Apoxie Sculpt.I fought with the color and opted for the way you see just for a bit of contrast. In my research I found that they varied from a pale green to an almost military brown so I split the difference!!

Thanks again!!

Andy

I bought this kit and i did not like it. Poor treads fit. Poor road wheels fit too. Not happy.
