It is looking very nice. I really like the weathering. Now that I see this I think I have to dig out 1128 I got somewhere in my stash.
That’s a good looking Stryker, the weathering in particular is very nice, enough to make it dirty without going overboard.
ygmodeler4, LeopardMan, and Citadelgrad87: Thanks for the comments. About half way through every build I think to myself that it’s going to end up looking like junk, but more often than not the end result is pretty good. I guess I surprise myself that it doesn’t look like what I would have done when I was 12.
If you like my Stryker, you should check out cameraflage’s (/forums/1046119/ShowPost.aspx) and redleg12’s (/forums/1038334/ShowPost.aspx). Those are some cool looking machines.
looks great padakr. i have always been drawn into this vehicle. maybe a next build for me. i’m debating between a panther, or now thanks to you, a stryker, lol. does anyone know if they make this in sand as well? or is it all OD? i woulde think that if its in iraq, it would have a sand version as well, although i have seen many vehicles still OD and woodland over there.
Nice Build [tup]
Resurrecting an old thread for a quick update… Went to PennCon 2010 this past fall. Entered three models (first time ever) and came away with a bronze medal for this model.
I was pretty pumped.

We all were that day Paul, WTG and Congratzzzz again.

Nice one, congrats on the award, the Stryker is beautiful and well deserving of an award.
Terry.
I don’t have much interest in modern armour but I have to say you have done a fine job[Y]…cheers…Kenny
And a very well deserved award it is!
Since this thread ended before I joined the forum this is my first time seeing her. Thanks for bumping it back to the top.
And again congrads- beautiful model!
Pretty !http://th34.photobucket.com/albums/d128/LilSlickRocker/th_slick.jpglooking job on this Stryker.
!http://i1210.photobucket.com/albums/cc417/tlxd/smileys/whoosh.gifI don’t know how I missed it the first go-round but I probably got it mixed up with the other recent Stryker builds.
I’m not really up to speed on the modern stuff but I know a good lookin’ build when i see it.
Only one minor flaw that I can see. It appears that the rear wheel is a bit retracted or maybe it’s just the surface or even the angle I’m viewing from.
Fine and interesting work.

Thanks for the kind comments, again.
DM - You’re right. I never noticed it before, but the tires are not all touching even. The back two on the left and the front one on the right are slightly up. The whole model will rock ever so slightly back-left to right-front.
I had to use a flashlight to back light them just now to see. On a slightly irregular surface it is very hard to see, but it’s there. I guess the judges didn’t notice, or maybe it wasn’t enough of a defect to drop it out of the “bronze” category.
Paul
A simple sand base will fix it right up…
