AFV Club Howitzer

Hello everyone, Im new to the forum, but Ive been building since I was little, about 20 years now. Ive mainly worked on WWII armour but have done a few planes ect…
Anyway, Im getting ready to build AFV club’s leFH-18M. I read the review in FSM, and I have read a few others. This kit seems to get poor reviews from being too fragile.
Has anyone buile this kit before, and are there any ways to stregthen it besides adding rods ect?
Thanks in advance.

Hi ackman, [#welcome] to the FSM forum.
I have not built that kit myself, but I’ve not heard many complaints about AFV artillery kits. Maybe someone else here knows a little more.

I dunno about the German gun, but I built the AFV Club US 8" howitzer, and had no problems to speak of with construction, and the kit is plenty sturdy – but then again it is a huge, sturdy gun.

some of the reviewer in FSM and missing linx hate all German kits so try and find bad things to say about them, there was one in there about the new Dragon tank crew, were he stated that you only get 1 full figure and 4 half figures, he cant have opened the box as you get the option of having the full figures and the ones shown on the box top (the half ones)

heres a propper review http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/afvclub/afv35s24.htm

Perhaps the reviewers just have big fingers. [:D] I have found kits that were considered flawless in construction to be just the opposite and others that were considered problems to be easy to build. You just never know until you get there.

Thanks for all of the input. I guess the best way to find out will be to build it. I’ll update you when I get going on it.

Cpt Caveman, thanks for the site, that was the best review Ive read about that kit yet.
