aftermarket periscopes for Revell Gato?

Does anyone know of a source for aftermarket periscopes for the Revell 1/72 Gato. I plan on rigging mine and the plastic scopes look like they’d bow from the weight of the line. Was hoping for something like aluminum or brass…any ideas?

Sadly I haven’t seen any periscopes in metal for the Gato.

I believe when the model was first released someone was making them but has passed away and no one has picked up where he left off.

Unless you have access or know someone with access to a lathe the only alternative is to try using a electric drill and some files and sand paper to fashion a primative lathe.

Or try to imbed some metal rod into the model parts.

Thanks for the tip. I actually have access to the lathe , just never tried to turn anything quite that small. I guess I was just being lazy. I was sure that white ensign would have put one out… oh well…

Hey claudez, K&S makes alum. tubing ,i used some on my gatto. Got from hobby lobby. they make many diff. diam. they abt a foot long &come 3 to a pack. all u need is a small tube cutter.
