Aftermarket detail kits

Hi All,
I think after market parts (detail kits) are fantastic…Does any one know of other companies making detail kits besides Verlinden (I’m mostly interested in 1/35 armor, vehicles and figures)?..I saw one on line from Belgium but can’t seem to find the site again…nice stuff on that site too…I think the detail kits make a world of difference to stock kit…I’m not so advanced as to scratch build yet but I will. I have seen Hornet and the Panzer Shop and a few others.

Thanks,

Kevin

If you’re looking for photo etch (PE) stuff, there are lots of them. Eduard and Aber are probably the most prolific, but Airwaves does a few sets (they mostly do sets for wingy thingies!) and Parts has quite a few. Lion Roar has recently started importing stuff that’s pretty nice. For barrels, look at Jordie Rubio, Eduard, Brass Barrels, Aber and Lion Roar. For resin detail parts and conversions, there’s Royal, Jaguar, ADV Azimut, and many more, I’m sure. Artisan Mori has a few really neat (but pricey) things. They are imported by missionmodels.com.

The best way to find something or see what’s available is to go to one of the online mail order houses and take a look. Internetmodels.com, greatmodels.com, missionmodels.com, rollmodels.com are just a few. FSM lists some of the online houses near the back of every issue.

I’m sure others will add to this list!

Good luck.

Yeah… Go to Greatmodels.com and check under “armor accessories”… I hope you got some time because I think you’ll be suprised…[:D] aahheeeee! There’s about a billion of them. I remember back about 10 years ago there were only a few and VLS was the stuff to have… but in the words of Bob Dillon “TImes they are a changin”

Peace

Missionmodels.com and modelmecca.com both have a good selection of aftermarket sets. I have bought from both sites and highly recommend either of them. (I don’t have a connection to either site.) To Bill’s very good list I would add Panzershop, Armo, CMK, Legends, Blast Models and Tiger Model Designs. If you haven’t previously used aftermarket sets, I would recommend getting something simple before spending a lot of money on these sets.

verlinden is from Belgium and I don’t remember another company on the shelves when I was there. Domi(djmodels) or maffen might know, that is the area.

Thanks…I’ll check 'em out

Good luck in your search Kevin.
