Reading thru all the post, I notice that alot of aftermaket decal companies are mentioned, is there a place where all these might be listed? Sure would be a nice reference page to have…
Gasser
Hiya Gasser,
Here are a few that come to mind… You could also check with your Local Hobby Shop as well.
www.Aeromaster.com This is also part of Eagle Strike Decals.

Whatever happened to Microscale aircraft decals?
i remember going to my hobby shop and going through the stacks and stacks of decals ,getting them in anticipation of building the plane, and then never completing the project.
They used to have so much stuff, did someone take them over?
i still have a lot of decals from them, but they will probably sliver if I try and use them
Thanks

The place with the biggest listing is www.flightdecs.ca
Many years ago, about the mid to late 80s, the two brothers who owned Microscale, had a falling out. So one took the Microscale name and went on to do things like model railroading markings and also is still one of the biggest contracters who make the actual decals for people like Two Bobs and Zotz/Albatros, among a whole lot of others. The actual art is done by the guys who own the firms, but Microscale’s plane actually does the printing.
The other brother kept the aircraft decal line under the name Superscale. I forget which one got the franchise for the Micro Set/Sol, the Microweld cement (I use it a lot, but the stuff is a lot stronger than back when it was in the glass bottle, so if you use the milder form of Tenax, be warned when using Microsol. It’ll melt right through that nice thing trailing edge you worked so hard on.)
Anyway, that’s what happened to the Micro dynasty. I think it was the Krasel Brothers, or a similar name. Anybody remember this saga? They were the first and last name in AM decals at their height just before breaking up, with a huge catalogue of decals they kept in stock. I miss that old black and white catalogue.
TOM
Tom, you are correct on the Microscale saga. Microscale still does high quality decals for many other AM decal marketers, including Aeromaster. The brother that took the Microscale name passed away a few years ago, so I don’t know who is running the company these days. Superscale still produce AM decals, but I believe they are now tied into Jerry Campbell of Squadron fame.
