After seeing this pic...I just don't know...

Any ideas?

looks like a ju-52 body on a wheeled trailer being pulled by a bt-7

The germans are so weird.

I’d say they are Russians. Nice call on the tank, Pat.

(its actually a 7TP polish tank, captured by the germans. Of this I am quite sure.)

Anyways, imagine if you were a walking along the road, minding your own business, then, you almost get run off the road by a plane…towed by a tank! Oh gees. Why do the germans even want to save it?

You are right abt the type of tank, sez Wiki. Now of course they’d want to save it, it just needs new wings but otherwise looks pretty flyable. Or maybe someone wanted to open an all night diner in Warsaw? Nice pic, and that url looks to be a Polish search engine?

I’m thinking more along these lines…the trailer carrying the fuselage of the plane is being towed by a truck or some other vehicle, obscured in this photo by the tank. Somehow the angle of the tank looks wrong to me.

Just an observation.

But they’re definitely Germans, or are at least wearing German greatcoats, and the Polish tank bears German markings.

/\ Yeah I was gonna say that the German markings are fairly prominent, especially on the hull of the tank.

ANyways, this would make for one hell of a diorama.

Here it is blown up. Its so hard to tell with that small picture…click on it to blow it up here…

Definitely, they are pulling a plane with German markings; you can see where the wing was…

I found this on a forum that contains many pictures of weird or rare tanks (one looks like a tractor with an large armored cab and a small turret on top-really odd looking). There is an entire section devoted to the polish involvement in 1939. I can’t read polish, but it seems people are scanning ebay, and posting pics for sale there, and also uploading private collections. I ‘borrowed’ this. You can also find rare pics of the engines of the 7TP on the site (I’ve only got 2-3, but no interior shots yet.

It also looks like the tail may be in the following trailer behind the truck.

It’s a Ju-52 that looks like it’s been broken down for transport. Definitely not being towed by the tank, look at the offset angle of the tank to the trailer. The tank is sitting on the side of the road while the trailer is in the middle. Whatever’s pulling the trailer is obscured by the tank or not present…meaning that the trailer is parked.

Looks like the JU 52 has zimmerit applied to it…

The fuselage panels on the Ju52 were ribbed.

hmmmmmm…those “ribs” look field-applied to me…

gentleman,no matter how you look at it,salvage is salvage.this could very well be the pre-cursor of the aluminum house trailer.[(-D]

Manny and his field applied zim. Obviously its germanys secret attempt of a mass transit system!lol[C):-)]
