For aircraft, I know who makes what. Need a resin engine? Go here… Need a resin or PE cockpit? Go here… Need a resin turret inteiror for a DML Tiger I? Go …er…umm… I DUNNO!!![%-)]
Is this kind of thing available? If so, what are the best companies to looks for?
There are many, but probably like aircraft, the company to chose is based on the genre you like to build. Verlinden is there, but quality isn’t always. Steer clear of AEF Designs.
Some good ones are Blast, Tiger models Designs, Chesapeake Models Designs, Legends, Voyager, Jaguar, to name a few.
It would be easier to answer if you focused your question. I mean if I asked you who made a good resin aircraft engine, you would come up with an endless list of resin brands. If I asked you who made a good 1/48 scale Phantom engine, you would be able to give me a better answer.
Good point Rob. When the wallet is about to be opened I will ask for more specifics. But basically you have answered the question as far as I wanted to go at this point… yes they are out there and you have given a few companies that I can at least go and see what kind of stuff they offer.

Verlinden is WAY WAY WAY better than legend productions. I got a 1/8 figure from legend, front and back molds of the head weren’t even fitted together when they casted this thing, tons of cleaning and scribing to do all around the body. I’ve never seen verlinden with this kind of shi**y quality control.
Rios: I can’t comment on Legends figures but their AFV aftermarket stuff is really top of the line. I’ve had and seen several very complex kits that are very good. (the M31 ARV conversion comes to mind).
I’d say that Verlinden is 50% mediocre, 30% good to great, 20% poor and “why did they make that?” Maybe you’ve been lucky only to hit their good ones![:)]. I find their figure sculptor to be fixated on peculiar and awkward stances. Don’t care for the faces either.
Also, I find that Eduard has been eclipsed by newcomers like Lion Roar, Voyager & ABER. That being said, their stuff is generally still pretty good.
