I was thinking of painting a MARK IV F2 in what is called Brown(RAL8020). I know MM has it in enamel but I like
to airbrush acrylics. Is there a Tamiya or Polly Scale that is a good match?

The only “accurate” acrylic that I know of is made by Lifecolor and sold in sets. I’ve used both MM enamel and the Lifecolor acrylic and found both easy to work with. That said they aren’t a match for each other when sprayed??
Oh well I guess that’s why we weather 'em.

Xtracrylix makes that color in their acrylic line up. I have not tried their acrylic colors, but ahve used Xtra Color enamels with great results. If your unable to get those colors, Tamiya’s Desert Yellow can be used as a starting point but will have to be lightened and changed in hue.

Remember that the DAK also used captured paints along with Italian colors to supplement their inventory. Even the German paints varied from manufacturer and from application method. I think its fair to say that It is difficult to pinpoint the “correct” shade due to the reasons mentioned along with the addition of the elements, especially the bleaching that was done by the intense North African sun.
