I have never seen any of the Aerofax references & was wondering what you thought of them?
I am looking for some detailed pictures to assist in the painting of a B-58 & while there are plent of pics online none really have the detail I am looking for as most pics are too small or reflection’s hide the shades of the metalwork.
Clear pictures or possibly some sort of plan showing which type of materials were used where on the exterior would be good.
Any comments welcome.
Jay Miller’s Aerofax series of books are very good, They have a lot of interesting detail photos and text descriptions. The ones that I have are all or nearly all black and white photos.

Check for pictures from the National Museum of the USAF… they have one of a very few preserved B-58s… And probably the only one not rotting outside.
The Aerofax B-58 by Jay Miller is probably the best reference available on this aircraft. While it does not have any drawing showing the various materials used in the exterior (that I could find), it does contain a wealth of information and details on the Hustler. The cover photo and six center color photos do show the exterior well, and only one is the highly polished restored B-58 at the Air Force Museum.
Another good book is by Bill Holder, published by Schiffer. It has more color photos, but again no figure showing the make up of the exterior. I would recommend both!
A good website is the B-58 Hustler Assoc. http://www.b-58hustler.com/ I don’t know if the photos are what you are looking for, but there are some great operational photos that you haven’t seen in the normal websites and publications.

There is also a book called convairs deltas, has several full color photos of the hustler, in the early prototype colored schemes, and many others.
