Any scale, any model, from out of the box to 100% scratch, any aerobatic team or individual aerobatic aircraft, you name it.
I see this as an Open ended GB: feel free to join in, move out at will. Just a forum within a forum really!

What are the proposed dates for this build?
Good point! Well, really, we could start anytime, like say January 2005 (gives the starting members time to locate kits and refs), and since it’s an open-ended Group Build, it could go on forever!
Domi:
r u psychic or something ???
i was just thinking about building a BAe Hawk…
even picked up a book about the Red Arrows team !
i know airfix makes a decent Hawk in 1/48, but is there a
good styrene kit in 1/72 ?
either way, i’m up 4 this build !
frosty[:)]
I’d be intrested I’m thinking about starting a Skyblazers F-84 & F-86
Cool, Frosty and Mkhoot…! The Skyblazers were a great hit in Europe! Never saw them but by all accounts they were hot! Frosty, I’m not sure about a decent Red Arrows Hawk in 1/72… I’ll have to check up on that! Maybe KJ200, Skii or another of our British friends will be able to answer that…?! Why don’t you go with the 1/48 kit?
Frosty, airfix also makes a great Red Arrows kit in 1/72 come w/ decals to make any one of the 9 as well a 2000 celebration markings several are up for grabs on ebay.
I may be up for this build if I can time around the other group builds I commited to.
Premier 1/48 Hawk/ Red Arrow
Sounds good, Awood!
I read somewhere that in the 60s USAFE had, for a very short period of time, a team called The Four Horsemen. they flew Hercs.
I’m still trying to visualize a dedicated demo team of C-130s
That would be quite a sight, Upnorth!!! Are you going to model the 4 of them, then…??! LOL
By the way, what’s this Vampire/Mistral in your SIG.?? Haven’t seen that one before. Did I miss it in the forum…? What markings are on that plane??
upnorth, dj
no pics
but check this out http://historynet.com/ahi/blthefourhorsemen/index.html
as these guys didnt use specific planes I dont think there were markings specific to the 4 horseman.
Hey Fellow Modelers,
This GB sounds like a great idea. I’m currently building a F/A-18A Hornet which I was going to do as a Blue Angel…would this qualify…or does it have to be a model started after the GB is official?
Thx, John
Hi John, I’m quite happy to get this GB underway right away. No deadlines anyway. So post away pics of the BA bird…! Happy modeling…! I’ll create a dedicated GB thread and a ‘badge’ in a few days when we have a few more ‘members’…!
Count me in, I won an AA Model J7E (Chinese version of the Mig21) last year at a local model show. IT had decals for the PLAAF August 1st Demonstration team. Since then, the team have updated to a new white/blue color scheme.

The kit looks like a bit of a bear to build, but this gives me a good excuse to start something out of the norm?. The no time pressue thing is great!
Domi:
i found a listing 4 a revell AG BAe Hawk in 1/72, & it comes
w/ Red Arrows markings. i will b building that kit, i think…
italeri also has a Hawk 100 in 1/72…
both kits r currently listed as in stock at GreatModels.com.
by the time the kit comes, i mite even have learned how 2
mask a canopy, LOL ! [:o)]
Awood:
thanx 4 the info on the airfix 1/72 kit… i’m currently building
an airfix p-51d, but since i haven’t tried a revell AG a/c kit yet
i want 2 check 1 out… [:D]
frosty[:)]
Waikong, that’s a cool scheme for a cool looking aircraft! Welcome aboard this GB!
Frosty, I have the Italeri kit, Hawk 100, but it only comes with Aussie decals… Looks like a neat little kit… It’s supposed to be my build for the Aussie GB…! One day, maybe!
domi ill be inteterested in joining. wouldnt be able to get a kit for awhile kinda broke ya know.
Canadair/North American Sabres were used by quite a few arobatic team in many countries. I will have to wait until I unpack at my new location in Feb 05. I currently have 1/48 decals for the Canadian Golden Hawks & Sky Lancers and the Italian Arobatic Team from when the Sabre was Queen of the skys. I assume that there are many more versions in decal form today. I await lots of pictures.
djmodels1999: I like the idea of your GB …I have a Pitts Special, a AMT Thunderbirds set, Hasegawa F-11 Blue Angels and I´ll be getting a resin Extra 300 this month …all of them in 1/72.
Cheers
