I’m not having a lot of luck finding reviews for the available (retail-no eBay please) 1/48 scale Sea Harriers (Tamiya & Hobbycraft and/or others?). I appriciate any and all advice, recomemdations, etc.
Thanks

I found this--------->
Hi,
There are four kits you can choose from and I have built three of them. Here is what I know about them:
Airfix FRS.1, this is a very old and basic kit. Panel lines are raised, cockpit detail is non-exsistant and fit is average to say the least. If you want dropped aux doors, you’ll have to cut them out as the kit intakes are hopelessly bad.
The good things are that it has the correct shape fuselage, a decent weapons load out and a comprehensive decal sheet which includes stencils for the weapons.
Airfix FA.2
As above, only this the later version of the SHAR and is a much improved kit as the fuselage is a new tooling with resessed panel lines.
Tamiya FRS.1
Not like the Tamiya kits of today! This one is old! In my opinion, this is not as good as the Airfix offering as its just as basic plus its fuselage shape looks wrong.
Hobbycraft FRS.1
I know nothing about this one at all, no reviews on the internet or in any magazines I’ve read. If you do find any info. on this one, let us know!
I hope this helps,
Mike & Darren-thanks, especially for the review of the Airfix FA.2. I will have to do some more research regarding domestic sources for it. Hopefully someone will respond with some input for the Hobbycraft kit.
