Advice with paint numbers

Hi all,

So I’m wanting to build my 2nd kit after a long hiatus. I bought a whole bunch of Humbrol Paints, but find myself interested in non-Airfix related aircraft kits.

So, is there some way of cross-referencing paint numbers? For instance if I have Humbrol 28 what number is that in Tamiya?

Thanks

Darren

This is at the In-Scale web site. Maybe this is what you’re looking for.

the inscale that Mike provided connects to the Humbrol page after you click another color range

http://scalemodeldb.com/paintcharts/humbrol

that gives you your Humbrol name chart, and if you click a color, then “show more colors” it will give you a cross reference on a page of similar colors, that lets you see how far or close other companies are to Humbrol, and you can pick up the FS names from that, I didn’t look for RAL, etc

I used their Model Master chart to match WWII German, Soviet and U.S. armor colors. There’s a Tamiya link there, but I don’t use their colors. if nothing else, it may give you a start. You never know where some of these links may take you on the convoluted web search for information.

Hope I was able to help.

Maybe this one is more useful. There’s a possibility of info overload. Promise I’ll post no more suggestions.
