Added review of "WW2 Productions" - Item # 48001 early Tiger I link track to BTL Group

From today’s news in BTL:

Today, we’ve a closer look at “WW2 Productions” first 1/48 scale link track set - Item #48001 - early version track for Tiger I Ausf. E for SKYBOW/TAMIYA kit. Retail price: AUD 25,- (+ shipping).

The bag contains 220 beautiful cast resin individual links in light grey resin, which are almost ready to install, with only minimal cleanup required. That’s enough for two entire track runs and leaves you with a number of spare links.

What is noteworthy with this marvelous set is the superb detail on both ends of the links, especially around the track pins. Although not seen once assembled the detail on the inside together with the extremely simple assembly makes “WW2 Productions’s” link track set superior over their competitors from “Armour Workshop” and “Atelier infinite”.

As the resin links comprise only one piece per link the assembly is quickly accomplished by snapping the two pins on each link into the corresponding locating holes of the subsequent links. Because of the simplicity in assembly reached by “WW2 Productions” these tracks are even suitable for a modeler who has never used individual links before.

In spite that the glueable soft vinyl tracks included in the SKYBOW kit have quite good detail for the medium used, the individual resin track links from “WW2 Productions” are superior in detail and do feature nicely reproduced hollow guide teeths, which immensely improve the look of the vehicle once the tracks are installed.

Please have a look at Terry’s earlier review at PMMS site for images and a
step-by-step explanation of the “snap together assembly”.

Conclusion:
I’m very impressed with the superb detailing of the individual links. I do give this excellent track set high marks for the accuracy, the casting quality, ease of assembly and the reasonable price.

Note: We’ve pics of Item #48001 in our Album - “WW2 Productions”. Bill will also release the mid/late version track for the Tiger I Ausf.E (Item # 48002).
