Howdy,
I’m preparing to build an aircraft (don’t know which of the 15 kits in my closet I’ll start with; what a terrible dilemma[;)]) using accessories for the first time (i.e. cockpit add-ons).
My question is this: Example – say I’m building a F4U-1A in 1/48 scale from Tamiya. I want to use a more detailed cockpit add-on, but all I could find was a cockpit for a 1/48 scale F4U-1A made for Hasagawa (or Revell, Monogram, etc). Would it still work???
Bottom line: if the scale and model of aircraft matches, but the manufacturer the add-on was designed for is different, can I use that??
Thanks for the assistance,

With a bit of trial-and-error fitting and sanding, it should work just fine. Hope this helps.
Excellent!! (In my best Montgomery Burns voice[:)])
AFIntel,
Go for it, I have lotsa resin and brass that’s intended to go into kit “x” but which I have slated for use on kit “y”. I echo Keyworth; you may have a bit of work ahead of you in order to get something designed for a Hasegagme kit to fit into a Tamiya kit, but it usually can be done with little real fuss.
Hell, often times a hunk-o resin designed to fit in a specific kit has to be sanded, trimmed and otherwise doctored just to fit that kit. (Wow, I was a poet and wasn’t aware of the fact! [:p])
