Hey everyone, new to weathering my models. I can get them to look fresh from the factory no prob, but weathering is a problem. Question I have is this…how do you remove acrylic paint from a model? I was dry brushing and it doesn’t look good at all, I’d like to remove it if possible. Any advice???
What kind of paint did you drybrush with? What kind of paint is the base coat?
If it is only dry brushing and there isn’t too much of it I’d be tempted to just paint over the dry brushed areas with the base colour.
I’m with Blitz, I’d just paint over it if it’s just dry brushing. If you REALLY need to remove it, Castrol Super Clean will cause it to wash right off within a couple of hours (if that) of soaking.
Its all acrylic, so I’m assuming taking off the dry brushing would effect the base coat. I was hoping to avoid repainting the entire thing, but if need be I’ll do it.
I have had good luck using easy off oven cleaner(older less) spray on , let sit for 1hour , clean off w/ toothbrush
