This is the 1/48th Occidental Spitfire MK XIc in the markings of Johnnie Johnson. the kit is oob save for some scratch built seat belts. I used MM and Humbrol for the camo. Hope you like it, and thank you letting me share it with you.

Pixilater, the wing bands are painted on, I did’nt have any decals for them in the spares box this time, I also painted the tail band rather than use the kit decal, thanks again!

Looks geat mate. The display base is great too, could you briefly describe the steps you used to make the groundwork? Type of grass etc.
Cheers…Snowy
Obiwan, Dave Toews, Gunney, Duckman, Woodbeck3, Ajacketsfan, KJ200, and Snowy many thanks![:I]
KJ200, and Snowy, thanks for the comments on the display base. Here’s how I contructed it. I have an old single action badger airbrush which I use to spray the ‘adhesive’ first. I use a watery mixture of elmer’s white glue and water and crank up the pressure on the regulator to lay it down on the plywood. the ‘grass’ is from a big canister of static grass flock from Woodland Scenics. I ordered several shades of green from Micro mark toward the HO railroad section. It’s just a matter of spray, sprinkle, spray, sprinkle, etc. It took several applications to lay down enough grass to cover the board. The glue has just enough bite to hold it on, dries clear, and is thin enough to just about catch all the grass you sprinkle on it! I’d like to construct one big enough to display something bigger, say a 1/48th scale B-17?[;)]
Glad you liked it!
wow. very clean and very sharp. well done.
