Check Accurate Minatures website they have some additional info on installing the turret as they seem to have had alot of complaints on the instructions not being very clear.
Sorry that it took a lil bit longer my friend, my Alt went on my pick up so I was driving basically blind… Laughs
Anywho, unfortunately I do not have the markings that you are looking for but I have these if they interest you…
VC-94, VT-82(small sized arrow on upper tail fin and wing) (both overall Sea Blue) and a Tri colour bird from VT-83. If you are interested, please send a PM w/ your info… Enjoy…!!
I also have some AM decals for the FAA’s ships as well. I do have about 4 or 5 unbuilt ones but at the moment I can not get to them b/c where they are stored in my hobby/lounge room, the shelving became a big Gift…Hehehehe [:P]
Tracy,
Yeah I noticed that… To bad this was not up when I originally built it when they first came out… Sighs
Been awhile sience my last post. Here are some more pics. Started off by laying down the black and them adding my top coats. I tried freehanding the colors. After adding my coats, I did not like the way my shading was coverd up. I then went back and added the lines. I think the pictures make them look darker than they really are. To me, I think it looks really good.
One question, how do you keep up with your own post. This forum moves so fast that if you don’t keep up, it may be 30 pages deep[:D]
Absolutely fantastic so far!! I am going t otry that pre-shading bit with the lines on the SBD I just started. It’s AM as well, I really like their kits.
On the first page of the of the forums, if you look at the bar toward the top of the page, there is a selection “My Forums”. If you click that you will see only the threads you have posted to.
Here are some more pics. The only thing that I am having some real difficulty with is the paint chipping. I have some on the wing but did not like it at all. So I re-painted to top wing and going to wait on some advice on how to do this and make it look good. My first attempt was using a fine brush with flat aluminum and kinda dabbed in on there. Don’t know really, a first for me. I have included one pic with chipping on the front cowl. Is that ok, too much, too large of an area I covered. I guess I need some help.
The paint chips look just fine to me! This thing is looking really good! Can’t wait to get one of these! I am just wondering if one couldnt do those preshading lines wiht a paint pen???
Wow! Beautiful build you’ve got going on here. A tip I picked up from another modeler for paint chipping is to use a silver Prismacolor colored pencil (Available at places like Michaels, and other craft or art supply stores) I know it sounds odd but it’s one of the greatest tips I’ve ever received, works like a charm!
