Accurate Miniture Dautles Cockpit Control panel

I have just opened my Dougles Dautles by aAcurate Minitures. I thought the way they gave the decal for the gauges on a clear plastic control panel was pretty inventive. However The instructions state to “paint the front of the control panel and then dry brush the gauges”. However if you do that you lose the black backround of the decal. My thought was to air brush the back of the panel after you apply the decals. This way you dry brush the front and you still have a detailed control panel. Anyone have this issue with this model, or anyone have a better way to detail the cockpit. Let me thank anyone who response in advance. All comments all welcome

I haven’t built that particular kit from AM, but if it’s anything like their series of Mustangs (which I have built), what I did was mask the back of the panel then apply a drop of white glue inside each bezzle on the front of the panel, paint the whole thing, THEN drybrush the gauges, pick out the white glue masks from the front (I used a pointed toothpick so I wouldn’t hack up the faces), remove the mask on the back of the panel, and apply the decal from behind. I really like the effect. A drop of future on each instrument face as a final step makes for a nice-looking panel.

great Idea. I think that will work out well. Thanks
