Accurate Miniatures IL-2 Stormovik

I have been working on this for a few days. The fit of the cockpit(Which installs from underneath) is very tight,I had to clamp it down to make sure that the wings fit properly(i hope)!

Nice job. I have this kit in the stash so watchin closely.

I will post updates as I progress!

I also have this kit, and I too will be watching!

Glued up the starboard wing and the fit was good.I test fit the port wing and it will be a problem. It is a known issue so I will find a way.

Looks like a good fit there. Why only on one side though? Brett Green has a different method for assembly on this kit and gives a good write up on hyperscale. Maybe worth a google.

As expected, there is a gap at the wing root. Not a huge deal, just a little extra work required.

Glued in some sheet styrene and now it is ready for putty.

The problem has been sucessfully dealt with. .

ya, putty! Doncha love kits like these? :stuck_out_tongue:

Believe me i have built much worse! The ICM TB-3 Zveno was a nightmare!

I started to build this model(the one with the skis) an the fit was so poor, like yours, that I gave up and put it back in the box. After watching you run into the same fit issues, I don’t feel so bad- maybe I’ll dig it out again.

Its not that bad!I consider the fit problems to be a minor inconvenience,I have decided to put the wheels on instead of the skis. The parts are included but not how to install them.Where can I find the instructions for the landing gear online?

Put on the landing gear blisters and they did not fit too well either,

Painted the underside .

Nice paint! did you get the instructions? AM used to have a website with all the info on it. Otherwise I can scan for you my instructions for the IL2M3 I have, should be the same gear?

Thanks!I found a site that had the instructions!
