Accurate Miniatures 1/48 TBF Avenger

Hi everyone,

I built this kit mostly OOB. This kit is very detailed out of the box and didn’t need much. I scratch built all of the seat belts from Tamiya masking tape and metal for the buckles. I used Eduard masks for the greenhouse canopy. I Painted and weathered with Model Master acrylics and enamels.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, really looks good. I especially like the job you did on the canopies. Great work

Really nice. I hope I can approach this level of detail when I finally start on my TBF.

Absolutely stunnng. Your subtle use of painting effects is just rght and very tasefull, not overdone by any means

She’s a beautiful airplane![t$t]

Definitely a beauty and one to be proud of! Nice work! One question, how would you rate the A.M. as a kit, good fit decent fit, that sort of thing? I have never even open the box on and Accurate Miniatures kit, but they have got a couple of subjects that have some appeal to me.

Amazing! Perfect paint and weathering. The soft masking really makes it look like the real deal. And If I may answer Sub’s question- AM kits are full of excellent detail all around. They fit pretty well for the most part, and yes, they did kit some very neat subjects that no one else did during their day.

NICE!!!

Nice job!!!

Thanks for the reply! appreciate it!

This is a gorgeous looking Avenger. I think this is one of President Bush’s planes too if I’m not mistaken. I’ve been wanting to build that one for a while. It looks great and I’ve been waiting to get my hands on one of these AccuMin versions. I’ll just have to be jealous of yours for a little while longer it seems.

Fantastic work! Your really did the AM kit justice, and then some.

You did the big Turkey proud, gobble, gobble!!!

Very, very nice! I need to get another one of those to build.

Looks great! There was a doc in one of the hangers at the Mesquite Air Port back in the 80s that had an Avenger. God that was a big bird, but graceful in the air. Thanks for sharing Raymond

Thanks for all of the kind comments everyone! I really appreciate it!

beautiful work, I have that kit in my stash and I hope it comes out half as nice!
