Accurate B24?

Ok I’m up to an important stage in my model PAINTING!

I’m wanting to create an accuratly painted model so I have a few questions to ask!
First: What colour are the seat belts on a libby? As I’ve been researching I’ve seen a range of different colours from light sea grey to a dark leather!

Second: What colour bomb bay is most appropriate for an early B24D, as I’ve seen examples of grey and interior green?

Third: What colour should I paint the landing gear and wheel wells?

And fourth: I’m displaying the model with the waist guns open what colour should i paint the interior walls and floor of the fuselage?

Thanks for any help you can give!

I believe they were either Aluminum or Interior Green. and as for the landing gear and wheel wells its your choice there was no set colors for either. The seat belts on the other hand I have no clue again it is your choice as to what color to use. And the Bomb Bay again the choices are Interior Green or Aluminum.

Ok thanks!

This is one for swanny i’m thinking.

As with most anything military, there is, (was), a set standard that is supposed to be adhered to. In the heat of wartime manufacturing, “anything to get the job done” was the bottom line. Interior surfaces of any airplane could be interior green, dark green, zinc chromate green, zinc chromate yellow, painted aluminum/silver or just left plain aluminum. No manufacturer was going to let the assembly process get bogged down just because they didn’t have the correct color of paint on hand. Corrosion protection was a nice idea, but in the rigors of wartime attrition, it wasn’t real high on the priority list.
