I am building the Revell Cutty Shark 1:96 If you follow the instructions in order, how in the world can you tie anything to the pin rails? Everything (deadeyes, ratlines, boatlifts, etc.) is in the way. Reaching across from the other side is just as impossible. I am to the point where most of the standing rigging is done, but I’m still trying to tie the halyard lines to the pin rails with no access. HELP
You really need a set of ship building tools. They have long handles and unique “tips” which can help guide the lines under the pins or through other rigging lines already in place. Very long forceps can also be helpful. As a doctor, I personally have access to all kinds of surgical tools which are extremely helpful. Another source is your dentist. They have all kinds of “used” tools which they might be willing to let go of (most recycle them and get paid by the pound, so one or two small tools to a worthy cause will not hurt their bottom line). I also use various small diameter dowels to help guide lines to their home on the pinrails. You can shape the end to whatever space you need to get into.
Hope some of these are helpful for you.

Thanks for the reply. I still don’t understand how tools can help me get to these areas that hardly even have a clear line of sight, but obviously people have built this ship before🤔. Thanks again!
Typically you can reach through the shrouds, or around them. I generally come from the port side when attaching starboard lines, and vice versa. A long handled forceps or tweezers puts tension on the line, and the rigging tools allow me to slip it under the pin, then around the top, then repeat at least one more time before a dab of superglue holds it in place. Using the dowel (again from port to starboard) to put pressure on the pinrail for a few seconds helps keep the line in place.
Again, your mileage may vary. It is definitely a learned skill, so keep at it. Very tough the first few times, but gets easier every time.

I normally use a long normal-close tweezers.
