Can’t wait to get it, been waiting for years for a decent kit of the M-551. Used to get in agreements with tanker’s when I called it a tank. To them it was an armoued recon vehichle(70-71) in Europe

Looks good. I may wait for the Panama/ODS version since I already did a heavy scratch/correction job on the old Tamiya as a Vietnam, 11 ACR, version.
In some ways it looks and smells like an upgraded version of th old Tamiya Kit.

Anybody know how big a C130 would be 1/35th ? I didnt get the impression that the kit is a Tamiya upgrade from looking at the pictures .Thanks for the info awan.
There is also a review on PMMS that highlights some minor issues with the kit but overall it’s a welcomed addition.

that sheridan looks really hot. the only thing is that ive never had an academy model with decals that werent completely aweful. does anyone else have this problem with academy models?
In the early '70s, an M-551 was the first “tank” I ever got to see close up, at the local county fair where the 107th Armored Cav had a display of vehicles. I thought it was cool as heck. There was also a local connection to the Sheridan, as they were built at the old Cleveland Tank Plant out by Hopkins Airport.
sigh…I have a soft spot in my heart for the little Sheridan… I think the Tamiya kit was also one of the first armor kits I ever built.
This is a definite must have kit. It’s nice to see Academy coming out with something different this time. Any idea when it will be in the States?

[:D] ok guys this is the kit i got from my friend,its an old academy m-551 sheridan it has a battery motor,the directions are in Japanese, its 1;35 scale.so far the kit looks good,not many sprues. the new sheridan has better details and decals,we will see how this kit goes, it might be a good kit.[:D]
[:D] i just got an email from my wife,she is toronto seeing her dad,anyway she just picked up the new sheridan kit for me,so if we have it up here it should be on the shelves in the US.[:D]
