Academy P-51 and Revell B-17G

Here are some pictures of my second and third models following a 21 year hiatus from the hobby.

The first model was a Tamiya 1/25 Tiger that was soon destroyed by my roommates grandchildren.

The second model is an Academy P-51. I had problems with the directions being incorrect as far as the landing gear assembly goes.

The third model is a Revell B-17G. This model went very well except for my own screw-ups.

All of these models have been much better than the ones I did as a kid. I have a lot more patience now than I did. I don’t believe that these are anywhere near as good the majority of the ones I see here but I am learning more with each one I do. My next model is a Revell 1/144 Space Shuttle that should be arriving tomorrow. This will be my first foray into airbrushing as I now have an airbrush.

Thanks for sharing and welcome back to the hobby. Good to know when you came back you were able to finish the build. Me, when I came back I started a lot of builds but up to now have not finished any. Happy modeling!

Welcome back!

You did those with a brush and/or a spray can? My hats off to you sir! Fine work. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the airbrush just make sure you practice, practice, practice. An airbrush can do some amazing things but I think it’s second only to my computer as the biggest pain in the rear machine I own.

Thanks. They are brushed. Hopefully I will be able to get better results with an airbrush. After all of the practice, practice, practice.

Those look really good. Where are you going to put them? You have a bookshelf or case or something?

I have to build something for my models. Good thing that one of my other hobbies is cabinet and furniture building.
