Recently bought the Academy rendition of the P-38F “Glacier Girl”. While going through the instructions, I noticed a paint triangle that has a number but doesn’t say what the colour is. The tag is for the cockpit area, a black triangle with the number ‘14’ in it. Presumably the #14 stands for a certain colour, but the colour isn’t listed. I am thinking that it might stand for “Green Zinc Chromate”. It is the colour of the radios, walls and floor of the cockpit. Anybody else???
Rumors of od green?

2 coats of zinc chromate and 1 coat of yellow green primer?
Hopefully people who know better than me can answer more thoroughly
According to IMPS Stockholm, early production P-38s had Olive Drab cockpits. Later down the line the -Fs thru -Hs were switched to Interior Green. However, the IP, control column, radios, and rudder pedals were all in black. They go on to note that there are instances where it seems subcontractors would deliver certain parts like the pilot seat/armor plate in the original OD Green. Those instances seem rare.
