Academy Hornet - some pics

Hi all you modelers,
thanks a lot for your words, gimme more…lot more
@Awood23: I think its possible with 2 tanks, see this pic: http://legion.wplus.net/guide/air/i/f18-1.jpg
@lufberry, headless? or do you mean feetless? Then lets say he is a poor guy my pilot, cause his feet didn´t fit into the cockpit. So he will never play football, but he still has his computer for flying…
Greetings to all
Gerald
PS I´m just trying to mask my Firefly cockpit. I should be patient, but… Lets say I could cry.

Gerald,

He’s headless in the first picture you posted. You can see him (or what’s left of him) under the nose of the Hornet. I didn’t even notice that he was footless later on, but that’s funny!

For what it’s worth, modern jet pilots are said to not use their rudders much, so you pilot will be just fine. [:D]

Regards,

Well done!! Yes, all of our birds have yellow struts. I haven’t yet seen any a/c with the fuse extenders on, but who knows- we can use them. Most of what we dropped during OEF & OIF was GBU’s and JDAM’s, ect. Here’s a link to our “unoffical” fan club.

Great job!!! I just got my kit and your pictures have inspired me to make this kit next in my queue…thanks for the pix.

That sure is nice. How long did that build take you? Wish I could get those decals in 1/48.

Good luck on your firefly.

nice job! she’s fabulous! love your bird as you love your bird!

That looks sweet… I am building the same kit as we speak… I am just waiting for some decals from Australia, and then mine will be done… Mine will be marked in Australian RAAF markings… Great work on your bird!

And is it an epic model issue as it is deemed to be? Is it of such a quality that no modeler should be without the Academy F18?

Thats a great build ,
i have got to get one of those kits
