Looking forward to seeing your progress in this. I was curious and looked this kit up on Scalemates: The tooling goes back to Nichimo in 1980. Interestingly those 80s releases showed the words “Harley-Davidson” on the box art but then that has been missing ever since, probably because Academy didn’t want to pay the licensing fees. An in-box review of the newer release showed that the decal sheet does still include some Harley-Davidson logos that look like the logos used in the AMF years.

Very interesting, i was lucky. Found this one on Ebay for $50, as soon as i seen Harley Davidson on the box. I grab it fast, so for it’s a lot of chrome parts on the motor. There’s 3 spures of chrome, 2 small spures of chrome.

It molded in blue plastic, black frame, ton of Chrome. The seat is black for now, i was thinking of a tan color for the seat

@bigsparky65: To me, the seat on this bike begs to be finished as leather. There several possible techniques that people use to do this. If you troll youtube you’ll find several. Here’s just one example:

Great video, thank you for the information. I never worked with oil paint, it will be interesting. I have 3 different seats .
